Clomid Alternatives

Clomid is a fertility drug that is prescribed to women to induce ovulation. It can be used for “natural” cycles, meaning that a woman takes Clomid, ovulates, and then has timed intercourse to coincide with ovulation, or it can be given to women undergoing IUI (In- uterine insemination) to help with control the timing of ovulation and to help the women ovulate more than one egg, to increase the chance of conception. In my personal experience this drug is effective for helping ovulation. However, it can be pricey and have side effects. Claim Your 20 Free Pregnancy Tests – Click Here

The cons of Clomid

The downside to the drug is its horrendous side effects. Although every person is individual and therefore, different, some of the common side effects of Clomid include hot flashes (I called them “personal summers” and they felt like liquid heat. They make a tank top and shorts seem like weather appropriate apparel in the middle of November). Mood swings were another side effect. I can definitely speak for my husband when I say I’m sure that sex was the last thing on his mind when I was on Clomid. It will make a woman go from Linda Blair to the Exorcist to a basket of waterworks in 3.5 seconds.

Alternative #1 – Fertibella Conceiveeasy

Due to the side effects alone, Clomid will make any woman want a natural alternative. One natural alternative is Fertibella ConceiveEasy. This fertility blend is a mix of various herbs, minerals and vitamins that pack a powerful fertility-boosting punch. With just one easy to take tablet per day, this reproductive support system helps to correct the most commonly experienced infertility issues in women, like poor cervical mucus, irregular ovulation, hormonal imbalances and luteal phase defect. And what’s great is that Fertibella comes in a TTC Kit, with all the tools you need to help you get pregnant, with pregnancy tests, ovulation tests, and a BBT thermometer included in the kit as well.

Alternative #2 – Vitex

One natural alternative to Clomid is Vitex. Vitex is also known as “Chasteberry” or “Monk’s Pepper”, it is an herbal remedy said to aid in women’s general reproductive health. It supposedly helps with PMS symptoms, heavy menstruation, menopause, and miscarriage prevention (due to low levels of the hormone progesterone). Vitex is slow acting and has to be taken a few months to allow it to get into your system before the benefits can be seen. It regulates the reproductive hormones and therefore, helps with ovulation.

Alternative #3 – Ovulex

Another alternative to Clomid is Ovulex. Ovulex is an all natural drug that contains several herbs that in combination are a recipe for overall reproductive health. It contains Vitex, Dong Quai (regulates menstrual cycles), Arizona Red Clover Blossoms (said to help women with estrogen deficiencies), Licorice Root (to help women who have infrequent periods), Siberian Ginseng (regulates general reproductive hormones), Red Raspberry Leaf, and Black Cohosh ( also regulates reproductive hormones). Like Vitex or Ovulex, Tribulus Terrestris is another herb said to help with reproductive health in both women and men.
