These tests are called hCG tests because they detect the presence of this hormone in the urine of the female. Some women wait too long before reading the test result. This can also give you a false negative result. You should wait only for as long as is instructed and then check the result. If you let the stick sit like that for too long, the result will not be right.
If you get a negative result but ‘feel’ pregnant, the best advice would be to check again after four days at least. To be absolutely sure you may go to the doctor for a blood test too.
