When Do You Ovulate

When Do You Ovulate

I am sure you know what the typical premenstrual symptoms are but are you aware that your body also tries to let you know about your ovulation period? When you are about to ovulate your body sends off cues to let you know; but are you sure what to look for? First let us explore what ovulation is. Claim Your 20 Free Pregnancy Tests – Click Here

What is ovulation?

Ovulation is a two to a four day time span about a week after your menstrual period when your body releases eggs for fertilization. This span can be longer than a week some or shorter for others. During these few days your body releases eggs to travel through the fallopian tubes and into the uterus for fertilization and implantation once fertilized. Now that you know what fertilization is, let us discover a few of the signs that your body lets off prior to and during this time.

Vaginal Discharge

This is the most common acknowledged “cue” your body lets off. Your discharge will be thicker than normal, as well as having a different color; usually the color is a creamy color. At this point the discharge has the thick consistency of an egg white.

Breast Tenderness

This tends to be overlooked by most women chopping it up to still being a side effect of being on your menstrual period. In reality, this is an entire new symptom of something completely different- ovulation!

Stomach cramps

The lower abdomen is usually where you will feel this discomfort. Yet again another sign that is blamed on the menstrual period. Rather, this symptom is from the eggs passing through the fallopian tubes on their way to the uterus.

Body temperature

This can come in handy if you are using a fertility chart. A typical female’s body temperature will rise just a slight bit higher than normal during her ovulation. This tends to be ignored as well, usually being blamed on just “not feeling well.”

Increased sexual desire

This may be hard for some women to catch on to, but usually a sudden urge (and occasionally a constant urge) to want to engage in intercourse can also be a sign that your body is telling you to “do it now” due to the fact that it is easier to conceive in those days.

Cervical position

Check your cervical position by placing two fingers inside the uterus and judging where and how the cervix is placed. During ovulation your cervix will be up high and harder to reach.

Know your body

In my personal opinion the easiest way to know when you are ovulating is to know your body and how it acts at all times. If you know typically you don’t have discharge, then odds are when you start to leak the drainage that is like egg whites, you are probably ovulating. Same with the other symptoms listed above. If you know how your body is then you will know when these things happen that your body is ovulating.

However, if you feel that you do not ovulate on a regular basis and are having problems becoming pregnant, please speak with your doctor about testing and treatments for infertility or drugs to balance your ovulation. All are available through your doctor.
